SQL Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Provide database administration and management support for RDMS in a Microsoft SQL Server-based environment
• Maintain quality of service and availability through daily system checks and STIG compliance
• Manipulate database objects and develop stored procedures, functions, and packages
• Maintain healthy data replication using availability groups
• Monitor performance, optimize code, and manage parameters for fast query responses
• Implement security requirements for least privileged access
• Develop and maintain database documentation including SOPs and architecture diagrams
• Manage and test backup and recovery plans
• Conduct capacity planning and assist with storage and architecture design
• Provide after-hours on-site support with a 2-hour response time

Requirements

• 8 years of experience in SQL database administration in a production environment
• 5 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server High Availability Group configurations
• 5 years of experience with T-SQL, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers
• 3 years of experience in team leadership and task prioritization
• 3 years of experience mentoring junior personnel
• 3 years of experience implementing security measures and DISA STIGs
• MCSA or SQL Server 2016/SQL Database Administration Certification
• DoD 8140.03 IAT Level II / Intermediate certification
• Active TS/SCI clearance with SBI

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the DCD IT Portal and Government-managed STIG management portals
• Experience supporting .NET applications in a production environment
