Sprinkler Designer

Responsibilities

• Design fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and foam sprinkler systems
• Perform detailed shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and field engineering functions
• Compile and prepare plan and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, and clients
• Coordinate fire sprinkler design with building structures and other MEP subcontractors
• Prepare project material stock lists for procurement and "as-built" drawings for archives
• Assist with field engineering troubleshooting and support for on-site installation operations

Requirements

• Associates degree in design, Engineering, Fire Protection, Construction Management, or a related field
• If no degree, must have 6+ years of experience in mechanical design for construction
• 2+ years of design experience
• Proficiency in design software such as BIM, REVIT, AutoCAD, AutoSPRINK, HydroCAD, or SprinkCAD
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience specifically with Fire Suppression systems
• Experience with other mechanical piping systems
• Experience in design for construction
