Spray Room Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain equipment and supplies in the laboratory to ensure 5S and safety standards are met
• Operate Bell or Gun Paint Application Equipment and automation tools within the Painting Process Laboratory
• Perform routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analytical tests according to standard procedures
• Collect and log data using measurement devices and enter results into spreadsheets
• Evaluate output quality results, including film thickness, appearance, and common painting defects
• Reduce, catalyze, and adjust clear samples
• Perform sample preparation and delivery for Applications or Technical departments
• Conduct routine safety program checks and preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments
• Retrieve and retain historical panels and perform wet or dry testing on samples

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email
• Ability to work with complex application equipment and lab test equipment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a quality lab, paint testing, or a similar setting
• Mechanical and process problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of IT networking and databases
