Sports Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and build Python automation scripts for listing and updating sports markets
• Build robust data pipelines to ingest and process large volumes of sports data
• Implement and maintain complex DAGs for orchestrating market operations workflows
• Develop and maintain cron jobs and scheduled tasks for market listing and settlement
• Own and evolve internal tools used by the Market Operations team
• Translate complex sports rules and edge cases into code
• Create real-time processing systems for live game feeds
• Develop automated settlement systems based on official results
• Optimize system performance and database queries for peak trading periods
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to integrate sports systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field
• 1-3 years of experience as a software engineer in production environments
• Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript
• Experience with DAG frameworks such as Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster
• Expertise with cron jobs and scheduled task management
• Experience processing large datasets from APIs, webhooks, and real-time feeds
• Strong knowledge of sports and sports trading operations
• Database expertise with SQL and NoSQL systems
• Experience with real-time systems including WebSockets and message queues
• Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotations for live events

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with sports data providers
