Sports Information Director

Responsibilities

• Serve as the institutional representative to the media and general public for all athletic activities.
• Design, write, and oversee the production of athletic print materials, including media guides and programming.
• Write and edit press releases and compile statistical information for individual athletic teams.
• Manage media requests, interviews for coaches and student-athletes, and moderate press conferences.
• Oversee athletic live streaming activities and serve as the primary contact for media providers.
• Plan and manage special events such as media days and athletic banquets.
• Supervise game day personnel, including hiring and training part-time and student workers.
• Provide real-time statistical reports for basketball, baseball, and softball during and after games.
• Organize and supervise photo sessions, including headshots and live in-game action shots.
• Travel with college teams and serve as the sports media liaison for the Southern States Athletic Conference.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience directly related to sports information duties.
• Willingness to secure membership in CoSIDA.
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
