Sports Information Assistant

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Athletic Communications in day-to-day operations for NCAA Division III athletic programs
• Manage game day operations including stat calling, live statistics input, public address, and scoreboard operation
• Maintain and update the athletics website with schedules, rosters, statistics, and news stories
• Write game recaps, press releases, and feature stories for athletic communications
• Coordinate with opposing sports information directors regarding game coverage and logistics
• Assist with the setup and troubleshooting of livestreams, broadcasts, and game day technology
• Supervise and train student workers and interns for athletic communications coverage
• Travel with athletic teams to away contests as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Sports Management, Marketing, or a related field
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for storytelling and media relations
• Ability to perform stat calling and live statistics input using NCAA-approved software
• Proficiency in website content management and digital platforms
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and travel to off-campus events
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment up to 25 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-5 years of previous athletic communications experience
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or other graphic design tools
• Experience with livestreaming, broadcast production, or social media management
• Familiarity with NCAA Live Stats, PrestoSports, or StatCrew software
