About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual care to hospice patients and their families across all races, ages, genders, and backgrounds
  • Facilitate spiritual conversations by walking alongside patients and caregivers in their spiritual journeys
  • Utilize a wide range of spiritual resources and network with community religious leaders to support patient belief systems
  • Collaborate effectively within the Interdisciplinary Team (IDG) to provide insight into emotional and spiritual needs
  • Offer spiritual and emotional support to hospice staff members upon request

Requirements

  • Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education or a Bachelor's degree in theology, divinity, pastoral care, philosophy, religion, or a related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting and/or related pastoral experience
  • Current endorsement or acceptable language (licensing, ordination, etc.) in accordance with your spiritual/faith tradition
  • Documentation of being in good standing with your spiritual/faith group with no pending ethical charges
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of specific Hospice experience
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills
  • Ability to minister to patients and families in crisis
  • Demonstrated ability to be open, sensitive, flexible, and ecumenical
