About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct spiritual care to patients, families, and staff within assigned clinical areas
  • Support the spiritual, emotional, cultural, and faith-based needs of patients and families
  • Provide support to patients and families throughout the Medical Aid in Dying (MAID) process
  • Lead and collaborate on corporate-led ceremonies and commemorative events
  • Participate in professional development and educational activities to ensure excellence in care

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Theology or Spiritual Care
  • Membership with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC/ACSS)
  • Registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
  • Clinical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated competence in spiritual care for diverse religious and cultural backgrounds
  • Strong counseling and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Spiritual Care with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care (CASC/ACSS)
  • Completion of CPE units in preparation for CASC/ACSS certification
