About the role
Responsibilities
- Assemble Gas Turbine rotor components ensuring adherence to safe and efficient production processes
- Provide critical crane support to the Rotor Assembly Shop, including acquiring a critical lift license
- Perform glass bead blasting of service run components to prepare them for quality inspections
- Use precision measuring equipment to confirm critical features of rotor components prior to assembly
- Assist in the stacking and tensioning of rotor spindles using specialized tensioning equipment
- Support blading and perform blending repairs on service run components to prepare them for re-use
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 3-5 years of experience as an industrial/aviation mechanic or millwright
- Ability to obtain and maintain Fork Truck and Critical Lift (A) level crane licenses
- Proficiency with precision gages and set tooling to high accuracies
- Ability to manually lift up to 50 lbs for short durations
- Ability to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests
- Ability to obtain an ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher)
