Speech Therapy Aide

Responsibilities

• Assist the speech pathologist in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, and classroom activities
• Work with individual students or small groups to conduct assigned drill and practice exercises
• Assist in conducting integrated speech activities to apply language stimulation strategies in daily living
• Support the speech pathologist with administrative tasks, including record keeping and report preparation
• Follow daily schedules and uphold school rules, administrative regulations, and board policies
• Participate in in-service training programs, faculty meetings, and special school events
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all students and staff

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or a minimum of 48 completed college hours
• Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate
• Proficiency in basic communication techniques and language to provide academic assistance
• Ability to use personal computers and standard office equipment (copier, printer, etc.)
• Willingness to serve as a positive role model for children
