Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed SLPs in conducting individual and group therapy sessions with students
• Implement treatment plans and therapy techniques as directed by the supervising SLP
• Monitor and document student progress and responses to therapy activities
• Collaborate with SLPs to adjust treatment strategies based on individual student needs
• Maintain student records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with TEA standards
• Coordinate scheduling of student therapy sessions with the supervising SLP
• Communicate effectively with families to reinforce therapeutic strategies at home
• Participate in professional development to stay current on pediatric speech therapy best practices

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant program or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification
• Experience working with pediatric populations
• Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, materials, and tools
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic therapy team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and record-keeping

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
