Speech-Language Pathologist

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat students with IEPs for speech and language services in a school-based setting
• Implement treatment plans and therapy techniques while monitoring and documenting student progress
• Supervise and support Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) during therapy sessions
• Interact with students and families to foster rapport and create a positive therapeutic experience
• Maintain student records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with TEA standards
• Coordinate with school staff and parents to schedule sessions and provide regular progress updates
• Participate in professional development to stay current on best practices in pediatric speech therapy

Requirements

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• ASHA Certification and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish
• Experience working with pediatric populations
• Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, methodologies, and therapy materials
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic therapy team
