Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist speech and language therapy services for students with ASD and complex communication needs
• Focus on classroom-based interventions and collaborative working with teaching staff and MDT colleagues
• Implement and advise on low-tech AAC strategies and alternative communication approaches
• Contribute to skill-sharing and modelling to support the integration of communication strategies across the school environment
• Participate in a supportive therapy team, ensuring a child-centred and holistic approach to communication development
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in line with professional standards

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Current HCPC registration
• Experience working with children and young people with ASD and complex communication needs
• Skills in AAC, signing, Intensive Interaction, and Attention Autism approaches
• Valid UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
