Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist speech and language therapy services to children and young people with complex needs including autism and sensory impairments
• Undertake comprehensive assessments and develop individualised therapy plans
• Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and multidisciplinary professionals
• Provide input in multidisciplinary meetings, annual reviews, and EHCP processes
• Document therapy goals, progress, and outcomes in line with clinical standards
• Provide advice and resources to support staff in embedding communication approaches into school routines

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Current HCPC registration
• Experience in special school or SEN settings
• Knowledge of autism and alternative communication approaches (e.g., PECS, AAC)
• Strong teamworking and interpersonal skills
