About the role
Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist assessments and therapy interventions
- Contribute to EHCP evaluations and reviews
- Develop and implement tailored communication programmes
- Set, monitor, and evaluate individual communication targets
- Liaise with families, carers, and external professionals
- Provide training and handover sessions to education staff and TAs
- Use and promote Makaton, AAC, and person-centred communication methods
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Current HCPC registration
- Experience with learning disabilities, autism, and complex communication needs
- Proficiency in Makaton
- Experience with EHCP processes and multi-agency working
- Ability to train and coach education staff
