Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist assessment and intervention for students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes aligned with students’ Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) outcomes
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support workers, and external professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Support students in developing functional communication skills for everyday life, education, and employment
• Contribute to reviews, reports, and target setting in line with EHCP requirements
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with professional standards

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Experience working with young people or adults with SEND, including autism and complex communication needs
• Strong understanding of EHCP processes and outcomes
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
