About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess and support students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) within a mainstream FE environment
- Deliver small group interventions, classroom-based support, and limited 1:1 sessions
- Carry out classroom observations to inform intervention planning and inclusive teaching strategies
- Provide training and upskilling for teaching and support staff
- Work collaboratively with education staff and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records
- Contribute to reviews, planning meetings, and service development initiatives
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- Experience working with young people in educational or FE settings (desirable)
- Confidence delivering group-based interventions
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
