About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in stroke patients
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress and adjust interventions as necessary
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Contribute to the development of best practices in stroke rehabilitation
Requirements
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
- Specialist knowledge in stroke rehabilitation
- Experience in Adult Stroke, Neuro, or Acute settings
- Independent management of dysphagia and communication
- Experience managing complex cases and discharge planning
- Experience in staff supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tracheostomy
- Experience with video fluoroscopy
- Experience with FEES
