Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide expert assessment and intervention for patients with dysphagia and communication impairments
• Manage a diverse caseload autonomously across general and specialist medicine, general surgery, and front door services
• Deliver specialized care to patients with tracheostomies and those who are ventilator dependent
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Contribute to the overall improvement of patient outcomes

Requirements

• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Extensive experience in the adult acute setting
• Highly specialist skills in managing dysphagia and communication impairments
• Experience with tracheostomies and ventilator-dependent patients
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or skills in Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
