Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties associated with neurological conditions
• Deliver individualised, evidence-based therapy programmes to improve functional communication and independence
• Contribute to the planning and delivery of active rehabilitation programmes within a multidisciplinary team
• Support patients in achieving personal goals related to communication, cognition, and safe swallowing
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards
• Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and service development initiatives

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Eligibility for membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Experience working with adults with neurological conditions (essential for Band 7)
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
