About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing disorders related to head and neck cancer
- Deliver evidence-based interventions for patients undergoing surgical, medical, and radiotherapy treatments
- Provide pre-operative counselling and post-operative rehabilitation, including voice restoration
- Work collaboratively with ENT consultants, oncologists, dietitians, and specialist nurses
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC standards
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Previous experience as a Band 6 or Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist
- Experience managing adults with head and neck cancer and dysphagia
- Strong multidisciplinary working and organisational skills
