Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat adults presenting with communication and swallowing disorders associated with neurological conditions
• Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes tailored to each patient’s needs and goals
• Manage a caseload of patients with complex neurological presentations within community settings
• Provide specialist advice and support to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals
• Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HCPC and RCSLT standards
• Support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy services

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Current HCPC registration
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) or eligibility to join
• Previous experience working with adults in a neurological rehabilitation setting
• Experience assessing and managing communication and/or dysphagia difficulties
• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
