About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat adults presenting with communication and swallowing disorders associated with neurological conditions
- Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes tailored to each patient’s needs and goals
- Manage a caseload of patients with complex neurological presentations within community settings
- Provide specialist advice and support to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with HCPC and RCSLT standards
- Support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy services
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- Current HCPC registration
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) or eligibility to join
- Previous experience working with adults in a neurological rehabilitation setting
- Experience assessing and managing communication and/or dysphagia difficulties
- Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team
