Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adult inpatients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders
• Deliver evidence-based Speech and Language Therapy interventions tailored to individual patient needs
• Manage an acute adult caseload across a variety of clinical specialities
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support patient-centred care and discharge planning
• Provide specialist advice and recommendations to patients, families, carers, and healthcare professionals
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with professional and organisational standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and service development initiatives

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• Current HCPC registration
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Previous experience in an acute adult Speech and Language Therapy setting
• Experience assessing and managing adults with dysphagia and acquired communication disorders
• Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills
