Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties within an acute hospital setting
• Deliver evidence-based assessment and intervention plans tailored to individual patient needs
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective patient care and discharge planning
• Manage and prioritise a varied acute caseload independently
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC and local standards
• Contribute to service development initiatives, team meetings, and clinical discussions

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
• Previous experience working within an adult acute setting
• Strong clinical knowledge managing adult inpatient caseloads
• Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
