About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting
- Deliver evidence-based dysphagia assessment and intervention in line with professional and clinical guidelines
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective patient care and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and local standards
- Provide patient-centred care and tailored management plans to support rehabilitation and recovery
- Participate in team meetings, service development activities, and clinical handovers
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
- Dysphagia competency
- Previous adult inpatient or acute hospital experience
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
