Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting
• Deliver evidence-based dysphagia assessment and intervention in line with professional and clinical guidelines
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective patient care and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in accordance with HCPC and local standards
• Provide patient-centred care and tailored management plans to support rehabilitation and recovery
• Participate in team meetings, service development activities, and clinical handovers

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist
• Dysphagia competency
• Previous adult inpatient or acute hospital experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
