Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults presenting with communication and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting
• Deliver evidence-based interventions for patients with a variety of neurological, respiratory, medical, and surgical conditions
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide person-centred care and contribute to discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical records in line with HCPC and local service standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case discussions, and service development
• Provide advice and education to patients, families, carers, and healthcare colleagues

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration and membership
• Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Previous experience working within an adult acute inpatient setting
• Experience managing dysphagia and communication disorders in adults
• Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills
