Speech and Language Therapist Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the delivery of Speech and Language Therapy services across the school
• Assess, diagnose, and provide specialist intervention for children and young people with complex SLCN
• Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes tailored to each pupil’s needs
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior therapists and support staff
• Work collaboratively with education staff, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Contribute to strategic service development and ensure best practice standards are maintained
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and regulatory standards

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Significant post-qualification experience with children with complex SLCN
• Experience in specialist education settings or with severe communication difficulties
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience
