About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and provide individualized education programs (IEPs) for children with articulation, voice, fluency, and language or pragmatic language impairments
- Provide in-service education and consultation to teachers and school employees on speech and language skills
- Support the generalization of language skills across school environments through topics such as Augmentative or Alternative Communication (AAC) and curriculum modification
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including BCBAs, OTs, PTs, mental health professionals, and special education teachers
- Manage IEP development, execution, and Medicaid billing
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Master's degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA accredited university
- CT 061 education license
- CT Department of Health license (or pending)
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (or pending)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience providing evaluation and treatment to children with disabilities
- Experience working with AAC and Assistive Technology (AT)
- Experience with CT-SEDS and Medicaid billing
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaborative communication skills
