SPED Tutor - Reading Intervention, Behavior Support & Foundational Academics

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized 1:1 in-home instruction focusing on foundational literacy, including phonics, decoding, and reading comprehension.
• Reinforce foundational math concepts through engaging, hands-on learning activities.
• Implement Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies to support emotional regulation and classroom readiness.
• Utilize positive behavior supports, redirection, and clear expectations to maintain engagement and structure.
• Adapt instruction using multisensory, interactive teaching methods tailored to the student's specific learning profile.
• Monitor academic and behavioral progress and collaborate with families to ensure consistent support.
• Incorporate student interests and tools, such as iPad activities, to increase motivation and participation.

Requirements

• Experience working with students with Autism and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Strong background in reading intervention and foundational literacy instruction.
• Proficiency in teaching letter recognition, phonics, and guided reading.
• Experience with positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management.
• Ability to develop individualized lesson plans and use multisensory instructional strategies.
• Patient, engaging, and able to maintain a structured learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active teaching credential.
• Experience with early elementary learners.
• Expertise in foundational math instruction for students performing below grade level.
