About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal subject matter expert for electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) operations, providing authoritative guidance and technical analysis to SPACECENT leadership.
- Develop, implement, and enforce spectrum management policies and governance frameworks aligned with DoD and Space Force directives.
- Plan and manage spectrum access and frequency assignments for satellite communications, radios, radars, and weapons systems.
- Coordinate with USCENTCOM, Space Force Field Commands, and interagency partners to secure spectrum access across the AOR.
- Monitor spectrum use and resolve electromagnetic interference (EMI) incidents involving military, federal, and commercial users.
- Provide decision-quality assessments and briefings to senior leadership, translating technical data into operational risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks including NTIA, DAFI, and HERO certification requirements.
- Utilize spectrum management tools such as Spectrum XXI, JSIRO, MIST, and HNWSDO to support planning and monitoring.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in spectrum management operations, EMS capability development, or associated policy and governance.
- Advanced knowledge of electromagnetic spectrum operations, management, and electromagnetic warfare (EW) principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving electromagnetic interference (EMI) across narrowband and wideband systems.
- Proficiency with spectrum management tools including Spectrum XXI, JSIRO, MIST, and HNWSDO.
- Experience with satellite communications (SATCOM) and other spectrum-dependent systems.
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce technical documentation and briefings for senior leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting a Combatant Command, Service Component, or Joint Staff headquarters.
- Prior military experience in electromagnetic warfare or spectrum operations.
- Experience operating within the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
- Experience supporting coalition or multinational spectrum coordination efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
