About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary customer contact to promote Amgen's cardiovascular products and provide clinical knowledge to medical professionals.
- Implement marketing strategies and deliver branded sales messages to drive appropriate product utilization.
- Achieve or exceed territory sales targets through both in-person and virtual engagement.
- Develop and manage relationships with key accounts, customizing interactions based on customer needs and resolving reimbursement issues.
- Analyze territory performance and business effectiveness to develop strategic territory plans in partnership with the District Manager.
- Provide feedback on marketing strategies and share best practices with colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree OR Associate's degree with 4 years of Sales experience OR High school diploma/GED with 6 years of Sales experience.
- For Senior Specialty roles: Bachelor's degree with 3 years of sales/clinical experience, OR Associate degree with 6 years, OR High school diploma/GED with 8 years of sales/clinical experience.
- Proven experience in sales within a healthcare or scientific field.
- Strong relationship management and communication skills.
- Ability to navigate complex payer environments and manage product access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of sales experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
- Experience in hospital sales or specific therapeutic areas such as cardiology, oncology, or inflammation.
- Established relationships and local market knowledge within the assigned territory (San Jose, Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Monterey, CA).
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
