About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications by reviewing physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities
- Perform Medication Therapy Management (MTM) including monitoring regimens and advising clinicians
- Provide patient counseling and clinical support
- Organize and direct pharmacy technicians' workflow
- Verify preparation, labeling, and prescriptions
- Resolve insurance-related issues and identify financial assistance opportunities
- Ensure compliance with State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and 340B program regulations
- Maintain controlled substance records and supervise support personnel
- Train and mentor pharmacy staff, students, and interns
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS in Pharmacy
- Active Pharmacist license in the applicable state
- 1+ years of experience in retail or specialty pharmacy
- Strong knowledge of pharmacology and FDA regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and web-based platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a dispensing or specialty setting
