About the role
Responsibilities
- Drive product demand in targeted physician offices, key clinics, and hospital accounts within the Sacramento territory.
- Research and engage Health Care Professionals (HCPs), including Gastroenterologists, to present complex clinical and business information.
- Use consultative selling techniques to provide unique perspectives on Takeda's solutions and link them to patient needs.
- Execute brand strategies and engage in clinical discussions to maximize sales growth within the assigned geography.
- Collaborate with internal partners to optimize resource utilization and footprint performance.
- Strategically manage allocated resources, including budgets, managed markets, and medical affairs.
- Maintain high ethical and professional standards in accordance with all company regulations and policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA).
- 3+ years of successful selling experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries (or 2+ years of successful selling experience at Takeda).
- Ability to discuss therapeutic strategies to influence key decision-makers.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and influencing communication skills.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to travel 25-50% (including some overnight travel).
- Must reside within or in close proximity to the assigned Sacramento, CA geography.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales.
- Experience calling on Gastroenterologists.
- Experience with injectable/infused IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disorder) products.
- Experience with biological product launches.
- Demonstrated understanding of the managed care landscape and reimbursement issues.
- Proven ability to execute marketing strategies at a local level.
