About the role
Responsibilities
- Represent Amgen products to physicians and healthcare professionals to establish product sales and achieve assigned objectives.
- Perform total territory account management, including providing disease information and education to medical professionals and external customers.
- Implement marketing plan goals through the execution of strategic account business plans.
- Navigate the healthcare landscape, including academic institutions, IDNs, accountable care organizations, and private practices.
- Establish productive business relationships with key local, regional, and national Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Utilize a consultative, solution-oriented selling technique to meet the needs of rare disease patients.
- Collaborate in a matrix environment with Case Managers, Medical Affairs, and Patient Access teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of collective account management, sales, and commercial experience; OR a Master's degree and 6 years of experience; OR a Doctorate and 2 years of experience.
- Proven experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device sales.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly challenging environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel approximately 20-30%, including some overnight and weekend commitments.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in biotech, specialty pharmaceutical, or rare disease sales.
- Experience in nephrology or rare disease/orphan drug markets.
- Experience with rare disease product launches.
- Experience in in-office injection/infusion sales requiring coordination with patient access services.
- Demonstrated success educating HCPs about complex diseases and diverse patient profiles.
