Specialist/Consultant in Emergency Medicine

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with acute medical, surgical, and traumatic emergencies
• Perform rapid triage, stabilization, resuscitation, and emergency interventions
• Manage adult and pediatric emergency cases in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines
• Perform emergency procedures including airway management, intubation, and central venous access
• Lead and participate in trauma and cardiac arrest response teams
• Coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and referrals to appropriate specialties
• Interpret diagnostic investigations such as ECGs, laboratory results, and imaging studies
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with DOH regulations and patient safety standards

Requirements

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution
• Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Medicine (MD, DNB, Arab Board, MRCP, MRCEM, FCEM, FRCEM, or equivalent)
• Valid DOH License or DOH Eligibility
• 3–5 years of post-specialization experience in a busy Emergency Department
• Current certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS
• Strong clinical decision-making, leadership, and crisis management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
