Specialist Welding

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and qualify welding procedures according to industry codes and standards
• Supervise welders and ensure all qualifications remain valid and compliant
• Maintain strict WPS and PQR control on the shop floor
• Ensure documentation and traceability for all welding activities
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and production teams to resolve technical issues
• Optimize welding parameters to improve quality while reducing cost and time
• Maintain welding logs, inspection reports, and consumable control records
• Apply knowledge of material properties (carbon steel, stainless, aluminium, titanium, etc.) to welding processes
• Utilize familiarity with NDT methods including Radiographic, Ultrasonic, Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, and Visual Testing

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the welding field
• Certificate or diploma in Welding Technology or an equivalent qualification
• AWS CWI certification or certified welder status
• Deep understanding of major welding methods including MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW, SAW, Laser Welding, and Brazing
• Strong knowledge of material properties and how welding affects them
• Familiarity with NDT acceptance criteria
