About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site technical liaison between Energy System Product Engineering and Manufacturing
- Act as the central point of coordination for Energy System activities at the Columbia/Blythewood facility
- Determine root cause and develop resolution plans for Energy System and Production Center issues
- Manage implementation of short-term containment and long-term corrective actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
- Capture lessons learned and provide feedback for continuous improvement of the vehicle Energy System
- Support new product launches, pre-production builds, and validation activities
- Provide technical guidance to technicians and test engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience, preferably in the automotive industry
- Knowledge of high voltage battery systems, power electronics, and thermal systems
- Familiarity with vehicle control systems, diagnostics, and communication protocols (CAN, LIN)
- Proficiency with vehicle data collection tools
- Ability to read, interpret, and generate engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering field
- Experience with thermal analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, Fluent, COMSOL)
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA)
- Familiarity with battery electric vehicle high voltage and low voltage mechanizations
