About the role
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of the Body System for Scout electric pick-up trucks and rugged SUVs
- Use CAD tools, CAD processes, and PDM systems to create CAD data for new concepts
- Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations
- Act as the central point of contact in the Columbia/Blythewood Production Center for the Body Systems team
- Design and create Body System integration and testing strategies
- Partner with concept and systems architect teams to solve engineering and functional challenges
- Coordinate with suppliers for engineering activities to ensure requirements are met
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure components meet validation and testing requirements
- Support the build process with the pre-series team
- Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions
- Perform hands-on prototyping and building
Requirements
- 7+ years of total experience, with 5+ years in body mechanical areas and automotive assignments
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering, or a relevant field
- Proficiency in CATIA V5 and PDM systems, including 3D parametric modeling and 2D drawings
- Strong technical problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead simultaneous engineering teams
- Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE)
- Advanced project steering and coordination skills
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment
