Specialist Technical Operations and Support

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call technical support to troubleshoot critical software and integrations for the Department of Public Safety.
• Coordinate with Administrative Computer Systems (ACS) to support in-car video systems, body-worn cameras, and electronic access control systems.
• Maintain and provide software support for ID card management databases and campus-wide security systems.
• Conduct periodic training for personnel to ensure software systems are utilized to their full capabilities.
• Document all modifications to code-based systems, including building security and system integrations.
• Research, recommend, install, and support new software applications or upgrades.
• Assist in producing and analyzing query-based data reporting.
• Serve as a technical liaison with Administrative Computing Services for desktop software needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in information technologies or computer science preferred.
• Understanding of networking, IT hardware, software, and wireless technologies.
• Knowledge of web application design and development.
• Proficiency or experience with SQL, HTML, CSS, C#, JavaScript, and ColdFusion.
• Strong technical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data and provide technical counsel using problem-solving skills.
