Specialist, Systems Engineering - Hardware

Responsibilities

• Communicate with vendors and customers to gather requirements and provide solutions to program challenges
• Collaborate with Systems and Software Engineers to identify suitable hardware for processing and I/O requirements
• Serve as the primary site Point of Contact (POC) for KVM design, integration, and troubleshooting
• Act as the primary hardware POC to identify next-generation processors, Network Attached Storage (NAS), and network switches
• Provide computer hardware and software support to production technicians, including building test operating systems and flashing firmware
• Support aircraft training systems and video conferencing design and installations
• Troubleshoot and solve hardware-related lab and field issues using a methodical approach
• Prioritize tasks across multiple programs to ensure timely system deliveries
• Travel 2-3 times per year as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of relevant systems engineering experience, OR a Graduate Degree with 2+ years of experience, OR 8+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
• Demonstrated understanding of computer components including CPU, RAM, Motherboard, Network Cards, and GPUs
• Experience with BIOS, UEFI, BMC, and hardware security features
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows operating systems for hardware testing and troubleshooting
• Ability to create and understand design flow, system interconnect, and wire harness drawings
• Experience generating and understanding hardware control and processor drawings
• Active DoD Secret Clearance (minimum) with the ability to achieve TS/SCI

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with KVM over IP
• Experience supporting aircraft training systems and video conferencing design and installations
• Proven ability to work closely with hardware engineers to define technical requirements
