About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a small software engineering team through all stages of product development, from design to implementation and system integration.
- Develop and integrate software projects for existing and new power system architectures and power conversion equipment.
- Interpret customer specifications to define software design requirements and perform requirement/coverage analysis.
- Manage Agile sprint/Kanban workflows, including sprint planning and Jira ticket-based management.
- Provide technical leadership and expert guidance on software engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Document software products to meet qualification standards for highly regulated and safety-critical government contracts.
- Proactively seek performance improvements using DevSecOps automation and streamlining.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in the design and analysis of systems software for power conversion equipment (or equivalent experience/advanced degree as specified).
- Expertise in embedded real-time systems software design.
- Proficiency in embedded C and C++ programming.
- Expertise with communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
- Proven communication skills with senior management and customer representatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing software for highly regulated, safety-critical, medical, or military-grade products.
- Familiarity with control systems and power conversion concepts.
- Knowledge of power electronics and analog circuits.
- Proficiency in Python or C-Sharp.
- Experience with object and service-based software architectures.
