Specialist, Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead or support continual improvement activities such as root cause analysis, Zero Defect Plan (ZDP), 8D, 6S, Kaizen, lean methods, and Six Sigma
• Provide quality support to software, systems, hardware, and aeronautical engineering programs
• Perform quality audits and assessments to ensure compliance with AS9100, CMMI, and the Quality Management System
• Witness product verification and validation procedures including systems, software, and aeronautical engineering
• Monitor and report audit findings and determine corrective and preventive actions
• Analyze KPI trends to guide engineering teams in addressing negative performance patterns
• Participate in Agile Scrum team activities and observe Agile practices

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 4 years of relevant experience, or Graduate Degree with 2 years of experience, or 8 years of related experience
• Strong knowledge of quality assurance/quality control concepts, tools, and methodologies
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001:2015
• Proficiency in process improvement skills such as 8D, Six Sigma/Lean Green Belt, or Kaizen
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile, SAFe, or Lean Agile processes
• Experience in Engineering or aviation industries
• Knowledge of PowerBI
• Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external customers
