Specialist, Material Planner

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize the end-to-end material planning process to ensure on-time availability of raw materials and finished goods.
• Review MRP system daily for actions, validate output accuracy, and initiate corrective actions for discrepancies.
• Maintain key planning parameters within the MRP system, including lead times and planning strategies, to ensure data integrity.
• Analyze and process purchase requisitions and fulfill work orders across multiple projects to meet the Master Production Schedule.
• Develop and execute material planning strategies to meet production requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Proactively manage exceptions such as material delays, changes, or substitutes, and communicate risks to management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project timelines, supply chain objectives, and execution strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, supply chain management, or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in Materials, Planning, or Inventory management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work with large data sets for decision-making.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of MRP and ERP systems (SAP experience is a plus).
• Familiarity with the SIOP process and lean manufacturing concepts.
• Knowledge of manufacturing capacity planning or defense program planning.
• Six Sigma, Lean, or APICS certifications (CPIM certification highly desired).
