Specialist, Impressionist & Modern Art

Responsibilities

• Source property through overseas travel and client visits
• Drive new business generation and meet sales and net profit targets
• Negotiate and nurture long-term strategic business development
• Sell works to a global client base
• Mentor junior team members to share skills and knowledge
• Catalogue and research items for Impressionist & Modern Day sales
• Maintain high levels of client service and professional expertise
• Facilitate private treaty sales and prepare valuations and proposals
• Operate in accordance with company compliance and corporate governance

Requirements

• Degree holder or equivalent, preferably an Art-related Master's
• 6+ years of professional experience in an auction house, gallery, or museum
• 2+ years in a client-facing sales position preferred
• Expertise in Impressionist & Modern Art, contextual literature, and authentication
• Fluency in at least one European language, with German preferred
• Functional knowledge of the auction process and valuation skills
• High level of IT capability
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
