About the role

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end processing of employee expense reports, ensuring accuracy, policy compliance, and timely reimbursement.
  • Serve as the firm’s authority on travel and expense policy, interpreting requirements and managing exceptions.
  • Reconcile corporate and purchasing card transactions across various programs, resolving discrepancies and missing documentation.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the virtual payables program, including transaction monitoring and vendor enrollment.
  • Conduct periodic audits of expense reports and card transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX controls.
  • Act as a second-line escalation point for processors regarding complex expense submissions and policy interpretations.
  • Support system testing, configuration validation, and process improvement initiatives within the T&E function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts payable, travel and expense management, or a related finance operations function.
  • Direct experience with Emburse (Chrome River) for expense reporting and invoice management.
  • Proven expertise in corporate card program reconciliation and employee reimbursement processing.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data analysis).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys and firm leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with Elite 3E or comparable legal industry ERP/financial management systems.
  • Experience with corporate travel management platforms such as AMEX GBT, SAP Concur, or Navan.
  • Experience with virtual payables or virtual card programs.
  • Exposure to procure-to-pay (P2P) platforms such as Zycus or Coupa.
