Specialist, Engineer – Seats

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for the design release of interior seats components, assemblies, and vehicle integration
• Collaborate with design studios and engineering teams to develop optimal interior styling packages
• Utilize CAE results to optimize component design and performance
• Use CAD software to package components for cost, weight, and commercial targets
• Manage suppliers to ensure timing, quality, cost, and validation deliverables
• Apply DFMEA and PFMEA processes to all components and assemblies
• Develop and manage validation plans and test labs to meet performance requirements and regulations
• Oversee supplier component DVP and control system level testing
• Act as a coach and mentor for the interior engineering group
• Translate voice of the customer needs into engineering metrics

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or similar from an ABET accredited university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive seating development
• Experience in design release, launch, and production support
• Strong background in product design, engineering analysis, and development
• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, Teamcenter, and Teamcenter Visualization Mockup
• Working knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA, DVP&R, GD&T, and APQP
• Understanding of materials including metals, polymers, and textiles

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or an MBA
• Green, Black, or Master Black Belt certification
• Familiarity with Scout Motors business systems and procedures
