Specialist, Employee Relations

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice, coaching, and guidance to employees, people leaders, and HR Business Partners to resolve human relations and work-related situations.
• Research, analyze, and advise on the resolution of complaints and grievances, acting as a facilitator or mediator in interpersonal conflicts.
• Conduct fact-finding investigations into workplace issues or complaints and prepare comprehensive reports with recommended remedial actions.
• Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, HR policies, and CMHC's Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
• Develop and deliver communications, training, and educational materials regarding employee relations programs and policies.
• Support the collective bargaining process and the implementation of new collective agreements.
• Act as a subject matter expert and point of escalation for complex human resources management issues.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resources management and employee relations.
• Strong knowledge of federal employment law, regulations, and industry trends.
• Proven experience in facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution.
• Advanced written and oral communication skills in both English and French (Bilingual).
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience using case management systems.
