Specialist Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight for electrical engineering deliverables during the FEED phase of offshore oil & gas projects
• Review and oversee FEED design for power generation, distribution, substations, switchgear, and emergency power systems
• Validate electrical load lists, single line diagrams (SLDs), and system studies including load flow, short circuit, and motor starting analysis
• Perform PMC oversight by reviewing and approving EPC contractor FEED deliverables, calculations, and specifications
• Monitor contractor performance to ensure adherence to Client procedures and quality standards
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, instrumentation, telecom, mechanical, and structural
• Ensure electrical designs comply with HSE, fire & gas, and emergency shutdown (ESD) requirements
• Support HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and electrical safety reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector
• 5–7 years of specific experience in offshore FEED or detailed engineering projects
• Strong knowledge of offshore power systems and international codes (IEC, IEEE, NFPA, API)
• Proficiency in electrical system simulation tools such as ETAP, SKM, or DIgSILENT
• Knowledge of ADNOC standards and hazardous area classification (Zone 0, 1, 2)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Prior experience working in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) roles
• Previous experience working on ADNOC Offshore projects
