Specialist, Center of Excellence Revenue Accounting

Responsibilities

• Calculate complex revenue accruals using data from multiple sub-systems across S&P Global
• Review and analyze contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment
• Conduct in-depth analysis of revenue trends, variances, and comparisons to forecasts
• Assist in the monthly accounting close process by preparing accrual journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare dashboards to communicate revenue performance to stakeholders
• Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
• Ensure adherence to SOX policies, procedures, and corporate accounting standards
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations, and FP&A

Requirements

• 4-6 years of revenue accounting experience
• College-level accounting degree
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and revenue recognition principles (ASC 606)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas)
• Experience with Oracle
• Ability to work in the US time zone
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage large data sets

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, or other data management tools
• Experience with database management
• Knowledge of automation and lean Six Sigma projects
