Specialist - Cathode Trading

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with China domestic copper metallic customers and suppliers
• Support the execution of the China domestic Financial Trading team strategy
• Support hedging requirements for China domestic physical business, including Battery Materials
• Provide daily market commentary and analysis on LME-SHFE arbitrage, spreads, and positioning
• Manage partial China domestic customer/supplier accounts and contract negotiations
• Optimize the value of the China domestic trading book
• Oversee purchase/sales execution and resolve customer/supplier queries
• Support yearly trading planning for Copper metallic within China and global refined copper

Requirements

• At least 3 years of SHFE Financial trading experience, preferably in Base Metals
• Technical understanding of the China domestic copper metallic market and metal import flows
• Understanding of copper market pricing mechanisms, arbitrages, and hedging operations
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Strategic approach to negotiations
